Wonder what everyone thought of gig at Leeds last night

We bought baclony seat tickets but had to stand up against a pillar all night as seats allocated first come first served basis.

Thought Paulo was wonderful but sound was a bit ropey in parts.

Hello All,

I joined the Gold Membership as a gift for my sister-in-law on the 27Th July 2010.

I've still not received the membership card or free DVD and despite two emails using the contact form on the website I have no reply.

Does anyone know of any other contact address or telephone number to resolve this?

Help would be appreciate as this birthday gift is now starting to look a bit hollow!

Surprised the newspapers havent picked this story up-last night there was a group of paolo fans(about 20 of them),with banners and paintings of paolo outside paisley town hall protesting because they were unable to get tickets.

And then half an hour later I saw them all inside the hall,so someone must have sorted them out-anyone tell me what happened?

Was it the man himself who sorted it out or the radio 2 crew?

Singer PAOLO NUTINI is pleading with fans to help him find a ring which he lost at a Scottish airport - and he's even offering a reward if the "good luck charm" is returned to him.
The New Shoes hitmaker was at Glasgow airport to catch a flight to Cornwall, south-west England, on Tuesday (13Jul10) when he removed the heirloom from his hand in a restroom. Nutini was devastated when he later realised he had accidentally left his great-grandfather's ring behind, and airport staff were unable to find it.
The singer has now issued a public appeal for the return of the gold band - and has promised a "personal" reward for whoever locates it.
He tells Scotland's Daily Record, "I don't know what the ring is worth financially, not a hell of a lot to be honest. But for me it means a lot. It was my great-grandfather's ring so it has been in the family for a hell of a long time. It has been handed down from father to son, that's the vibe... It was my good luck charm. I got it when I was about 10 so it has been with me for a long time.
"I am not going to be taken for a ride over it obviously but I am happy to offer a personal reward. I don't mean cash - something which would be special to a fan... As I said it really is not worth a lot financially, it just means a lot to me."

WELSH rocker Kelly Jones has revealed that he spent 2009 listening to Paolo Nutini.

The Stereophonics frontman said the 22-year-old Scottish star's second LP Sunny Side Up was his favourite record of the past 12 months and he regularly played it at home.

Paisley soul sensation Paolo's second record knocked American hip-hop favourite Eminem off the top of the album charts in June.

The follow-up to These Streets, gave him his second No1 and became the year's third best-selling album in the UK.

Kelly said: "In a world of auto-tuned singles Pencil Full Of Lead is summer. Paolo is a great singer, with Sam Cooke and Otis Redding influences. It's a good album to have on in the house."

The Stereophonics singer joins a long line of stars who have praised Paolo.

Rod Stewart, Mick Jagger, Paul Weller, Michael Jackson's producer Quincy Jones and Taylor Swift also love him.

In November, Pink hooked up with Paolo when he played a gig in Amsterdam and was highly impressed. Discussing Sunny Side Up, she said: "It makes me love music again. I've got a big goofy smile on my face."

Since then, she has invited him to tour with her in Germany this year.

Rod has voiced his admiration for Paolo, too, saying: "He has a great career ahead of him. I've been around the block a few times to know what it takes to be able to pull in a crowd.

"There are similarities between us. We are both Celtic supporters and good looking but we have our own distinctivesounds.Paolowilldovery well. He comes across as humble."

Sunny Side Up has already gone double platinum (600,000 sales) and featured the singles Candy, Coming Up Easy and Pencil Full Of Lead as well as 10/10, which is released on January 11.

Meanwhile, Paolo has a producer in mind for his next album, Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page.

He said: "You have people on your wishlist and Jimmy is definitely on mine. Getting someone that's enthusiastic about your music is the main thing. It's better to have someone like that than the trendy hitmakers."

Re: The t-shirt contest, it's unclear if only one submission is allowed. I see several people have put up 2 or more submissions. However in the "Official Rules" it states only one per person is allowed. Can this be clarified? Several details contradict, such as, it says July 31 is the deadline, but on the Facebook page, it says August 2 is the cut off date.

And, it says "open to residents of the UK" but there's an option to put other countries too...so I'm assuming anyone can enter.

Please let me know asap! :)

I was really shocked and angry to see what the NME had put about Paolo in their review of T in the Park. This is what it said...

Theres got to be suspect agenda lurking behind a young man who sings about girls, for girls, doing so while wearing a pained sex face that suggests that climax is not in immediate sight. In most social circles that would be deemed distasteful and predatory behavior, but stick said Young man on a stage infront of 10,000 braying idiots suddenly hes a 'charming' and 'raw' performer. Pretty boy looks aside, its hard to understand exactly what the ladies see in Paolo Nutini:his every utterence sounds like "hnnnggrhh!" growled in an addled brogue, and his cheap, soulless ska is so objectionable that you cant help but wish Madness were playing today so they could give him a much deserved Beetle crusher shoeing. Then theres the fact that his songs only fall under two catogories: B&Q advert summer or M&S advert senduality, each topped off witha laboured, hollow, stadium finish courtesy of his ludricusly oversized band. Ladies, you deserve better than this.

Now I dont know what you think, but i think that was very harsh. I know you will probably think, who cares its jsut a bad review, but I cared. I sent an email to the NME and this is their reply...

Caitlin, did you see footage of Paolo's T performance on TV? The one where he's clutching a can of Tennent's, looking slightly grizzled around the face and swaying at a cocked, very much not vertical angle? That's not the sign of a sophisticated soul singer. That's the sign of a street corner's common or garden drunk.

Errrmm. It would be nice if some other of you sent them an email, just to show them. Anyway Paolo WE LOVE YOU and dont listen to this rubbish :)

I just found myself chanting...USA. USA. USA. This chant proclaims my ever lovin' desire for Paolo to come back to the states and grace us with his singing, lack of eye contact as well as fanciful dance moves.

Me thinks I like myself a little bit of Paolo :D After watching a few videos recently (yes, I did take a Paolo break because of outside forces), I am rediscovering the ferver with which Paolo exudes with his music. I am completely in love with his....work ;) Don't say that you're not, fellow forum members. Otherwise, we would not be here.

When I met Paolo, I babbled like an idiot about Cafe Press. I thought it would be a great way for him to get merchandise to his American fans. He looked at me like "..uh" I don't think he knew what the hell I was talking about.
It was this. Cafe Press. It's a quick and easy way to offer merchandise to fans. I thought it might be a good idea for Paolo to have a cafe press so that his merchandise would be available to American fans without having to worry about currency rates or ordering from overseas.

Meeting Paolo After a gig

I'm going to see paolo in September at one of his irish gigs and Im praying that I will some how, meet paolo after his show to get a picture with him or an autograph. I have seen him before at a festival and an awards ceremony and have not had the privilege of actually meeting him. So I was wonder have any of ye been lucky to meet paolo before after a gig, etc. and what was he like? =]

I'm always looking for new ways to help my students learn English and music is always a good way..if u can find music/songs that aren't just noise or rubbish..

So Paolo's music is perfect as u can actually hear the lyrics

The idea is they downlaod it on their ipod and read the lyrics at the same time,..

Funny to think they r foreigners out there speaking English with an Irish accent and singing in a Scottish accent!! heehee :)

exclusive concert for radio 2 in Paisley

They have been advertising on radio 2 that Paolo will be playing an exclusive concert at The West Of Scotland University in Paisley on the 15th of August.

I have made enquiries at the university and they say they are just the venue. I've tried radio 2 with no luck.

Can anyone from the admin team tell me anything more. and how I can get a ticket for this gig please?

It would be fantastic to see Paolo perform in his home town of Paisley. We are all so proud of him.
